Das Leben ist an jedem Ort auf der Welt unterschiedlich. Das Klima, die Sprache, die Kultur, die Menschen. Auch wenn es nur kleine Unterschiede teilweise sind, es ist unmöglich einen Ortswechsel ohne Veränderungen zu erleben.
Life is different on every single place in the world. The climate, the language, the culture, the humanity. Even if there are only small differences. It’s impossible to change places without feeling any differences.
Ich dachte immer, ein Leben in der Wüste ist unmöglich. Aber jetzt lebe ich an einem Ort, welcher eigentlich Wüste ist. Ich befinde mich momentan in Dubai, einer der unglaublichsten Städte der Welt. Warum? Diese Stadt ist aus dem Nichts entsanden! Dieses Jahr wurde der 46. Nationaltag gefeiert, welcher nochmal wiederspiegelt wie schnell man ein Imerpium aus dem Nichts schaffen kann.
I’ve ever thought living in the desert is not possible. But now I’m living at a place which is originally the desert. I’m living currently in Dubai, one of the most breathtaking cities in the world. Why this? Because this city was made out of nothing! This year the UAE has celebrated the 46th national day which shows how fast such an imperium can grow out of nothing.
Ich treffe täglich Menschen durch meinen Beruf, welche erzählen, dass sie vor wenigen Jahren schon in Dubai waren, aber es kaum noch Ähnlichkeit hat da die Entwicklung dieser Stadt so rasant ist. Ein guter Freund arbeitet hier für ein Bauunternehmen und selbst er ist teilweise schockiert, wie schnell etwas aufgebaut ist, wenn man weiss, wie schwer es ist erst einmal eine stabile Basis zu schaffen. Architektur in der Wüste ist eine Herausforderung und diese Stadt sieht dies als kein Hindernis. Im Gegenteil. Sie nutzt diesen Nachteil als Profit um als Stadt weltweit als Besonderheit zu gelten.
I’m meeting daily new people with my job here who are telling me that they’ve been to Dubai before but it never looks the same when they are coming back. The development of this city is so fast. A friend of mine is working for a construction company and even he is always shocked how fast something is going to be built up if you have the background knowledge about creating a good basement for each project. It’s a challenge to have such architecture in the desert but Dubai doesn’t see it as an obstacle. On the contrary: This city uses it probable disadvantage as a profit to be individual and the most special city world wide.
Ich wohne etwas ausserhalb in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet. Gegenüber dem Haus in dem ich wohne, ist Wüste. Im Moment. Ich weiss aber, wenn ich nächstes Jahr wiederkommen würde, wird dort ein weiteres Gebäude stehen. Ziel von Dubai ist es, keinen Platz der Stadt der Wüste zu überlassen. Sie wollen die Wüste aus der Stadt drängen. Es wird sich zeigen, ob dieses Projekt auf die Zukunft Erfolg haben wird.
I’m living in an area which is a little bit outside, quiet and friendly. Opposite of the building I“m living is the desert. Right now. But I know if I would come back next year it will look completely different and there will be more exotic buildings instead of desert. The goal of Dubai is to replace the desert into city which means creating new homes and pushing the desert out of the city. Let’s see how far they are going and if it’s all working out as expecting.
